Karni Sena withdraws Padmaavat protests |
Rajput
Karni Sena has decided to back out from its protests against the release of SanjayLeela Bhansali`s `Padmaavat`. The group has reportedly stated that the
movie glorifies the valor of the Rajputs.
Yogendra
Singh Katar leader of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena`s said that on the directions of organisation`s
national President Sukhdev Singh Gogamadi, a few members watched the movie in
Mumbai on Friday, and found that that the movie glorifies the valour and sacrifice
of Rajput and every Rajput will be feeling proud after watching the film.
The
group is finally convinced that there is no such objectionable scene between
Delhi Sultanate ruler Alauddin Khilji and Queen Padmini of Mewar. A letter,
declaring that the Karni Sena has taken back their protest and will help the
administration to release the film in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat as
well as across all cinema houses in India was received from the spokesperson.
Karni
Sena`s demands for a ban on the period film on the grounds that it
"distorts" historical facts proved to be a major hindrance to the
movie`s release. Last month, Supreme Court also lifted the ban on the movie
imposed by several states and directed them to ensure its release. Sanjay Leela
Bhansali`s Padmaavat witnessed a worldwide release amidst tight security and
protest from various groups. Certain cinema hall owners, however, decided not
to screen the film in the wake of being carried allegedly by Karni Sena protests in Gujarat and Haryana.
Now,
the question arises, should we be expecting an apology letter from the
advocates of moral right bearers for their unruly behavior and death threats?
Or should the Padmaavat files be marked X and stashed aside?
